Examination Policy
Namdev Public School
At Namdev Public School, we believe that assessment is an integral part of the teaching and learning process. Our examination policy aims to evaluate not only academic proficiency but also the overall growth and development of each student — intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
1. Objectives
  • To assess students’ understanding, skills, and application of concepts taught in class.
  • To encourage continuous learning and improvement through regular evaluation.
  • To develop students’ sense of responsibility, honesty, and discipline during examinations.
  • To provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and teachers for academic progress.
2. Structure of Evaluation
Classes Nursery to II
  • No formal examinations are conducted.
  • Continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) is carried out through class activities, oral assessments, and observation of daily performance.
  • The focus remains on joyful learning, conceptual clarity, and overall development.
Classes III to VIII
  • Evaluation is based on the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern.
  • The academic session is divided into two terms:
    • Term I: April to September
    • Term II: October to March
  • Each term includes periodic tests, notebook submission, subject enrichment activities, and a term-end examination.
  • Co-curricular activities, discipline, attendance, and participation are also assessed.
Classes IX to XII
  • The school follows the CBSE guidelines for assessment.
  • There will be Periodic Tests, Half-Yearly Examinations, and Annual/Pre-Board Examinations.
  • Class X and XII students will appear for Board Examinations as per the schedule prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • Internal assessments, practical exams, and project work carry marks as per CBSE norms.
3. Examination Rules & Discipline
  • Students must report on time and in full school uniform on examination days.
  • Use of unfair means or misconduct during exams will lead to strict disciplinary action.
  • Absence from any exam without prior approval or valid reason will result in no re-test being conducted.
  • Medical leave, if applicable, must be supported by a valid medical certificate.
4. Promotion Criteria
  • Promotion to the next class is based on overall performance throughout the year — including class tests, projects, attendance, and final examination results.
  • Consistent effort and regular attendance are essential for promotion.
5. Parent Communication
  • Parents will be informed about their child’s progress through report cards, parent-teacher meetings, and digital communication platforms.
  • The school encourages parents to maintain regular contact with teachers to support the child’s learning journey.
